Bromsgrove Staff Take on Sydney Marathon in Support of Children's and Cancer Charities

Bromsgrove School is proud to support two members of its community as they prepare to take on the TCS Sydney Marathon in August, raising funds for two remarkable charitable causes.

Miss Lois Brown, Teacher of PE and Games and Second Academic at Bromsgrove School, will be running the marathon in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity, which provides life-changing care and support to children and their families. Miss Brown is raising funds to help ensure the charity can continue its vital work.

Joining Miss Brown on the start line will be Mrs Gill Punt, wife of the Headmaster of Bromsgrove School, who continues her extraordinary commitment to charitable fundraising. Earlier this year, Mrs Punt completed the London Marathon dressed as 'Paula the Polar Bear', delighting supporters while raising funds for cancer charities.

The School is also delighted to congratulate Mrs Punt on receiving the prestigious British Citizen Award (BCAv) Medal of Honour for Services to Volunteering and Charitable Giving. Over almost 30 years, Mrs Punt has helped raise more than £2 million, inspiring countless individuals through her compassion, resilience and unwavering dedication.

As 'Paula the Polar Bear', Mrs Punt's fundraising efforts have changed lives while honouring the memory of her father and supporting those affected by cancer. The Sydney Marathon marks the next chapter in her remarkable fundraising journey as she works towards an ambitious new milestone of raising £3 million for charity. Everyone at Bromsgrove School wishes both Miss Brown and Mrs Punt every success as they take on this incredible challenge in Sydney.
