News summary from Pilgrim's School
Our latest ISI inspection recognised music as a 'significant strength' highlighting what the music department does across the board with multiple Choirs and Ensembles, not just our two professional Chorister choirs we are well known for.
At The Pilgrims’ School, boys aged 4 to 13 are known, stretched and encouraged in everything they do - whether that’s a lesson, a match, or a piece of music.
We value character and kindness as much as academic results. Boys spend as much time outdoors as they do in the classroom, making full use of facilities that are part of everyday school life rather than something saved for show.
Music is a constant and you hear it everywhere you go. Rehearsals, performances and even professional recordings reflect the opportunities on offer in music and why the latest ISI report noted it as a 'significant strength'. Other activities feed boys' curiosity, the extra-curricular is second to none. One boy might be learning to row on the River Itchen, while another is preparing for a flight in a light aircraft. Boys are busy, engaged and quietly growing in confidence, given the space, encouragement and carefully planned guidance and use of time, which makes sure Pilgrims' school days really are the best days.
