Port Regis wins Environmental Achievement School of the Year 2026

Top School UK and Internationally for Environmental Achievement 2026 in the Talk Education Innovation Awards.

Port Regis School is thrilled to announce that it has been selected from prep and senior schools across the UK and internationally as the winners of the Environmental Achievement Award in the Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education 2026.

These awards celebrate schools who are 'forging boldly ahead with new, revolutionary ideas which are changing the face of independent education.' www.talkeducation.com

Among the recent initiatives to support Green Vision at the school, this year we published our Green Vision newspaper: 32 pages of environmental journalism, written entirely by our pupils. We also devoted a whole day to exploring how to look after the environment in many different ways across the curriculum, as well as delivering hands on activities. We hosted an Environmental Summit, welcoming a range of inspiring guest speakers who are doing fascinating work to protect and restore our natural world, with panellists including Zac Goldsmith, The Iris Project, Conservation Collective, Ahbstra and Better Planet Education.

We have also been fundraising for The Iris Project, an inspiring charity that supports youth-led environmental work and empowers young people to make a difference launched by Ben Goldsmith in memory of his daughter Iris. Our Green Vision continues to shape all aspects of school life – through the curriculum, but also through practical action. We are planting trees and pollinators, increasing biodiversity and working to reduce our carbon footprint through new solar panels and many other initiatives.

Jemima Mills who has spearheaded the Port Regis work on the Green Vision, said:

'As a school, we are deeply committed to our Green Vision. The enthusiasm and passion of our pupils, as they engage with protecting the natural world and tackling the climate crisis, give us real hope for the future. Thank you Talk Education for this wonderful national award, we are over the moon!'
