SWPS shortlisted for Environmental Achievement
We are delighted to share that Sir William Perkins's School has been shortlisted in the Environmental Achievement category of the Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education 2026.
The awards celebrate schools that are changing the face of education through innovative and forward thinking ideas, with this category recognising schools that inspire and encourage eco-awareness amongst their students.
For SWPS, this recognition reflects an ongoing commitment to ensuring that sustainability is something our students don't simply learn about but they have opportunities to investigate, question and act upon it.
Under the leadership of Dr Nasser, students have explored real0world environmental challenges through projects that encourage research, collaboration, problem-solving and meaningful action.
Our Year 8 Sustainability Project has already received international recognition through the British Council's International School Award, celebrating work that helps young people develop their understanding of global issues and their role within an interconnected world.
Through our work with the SEEd Young Changemakers programme, students have also investigated practical sustainability projects for SWPS; from exploring the feasibility and potential impact of solar energy to developing ideas to enhance biodiversity.
And at SWPS Sustainability Conference, students had the opportunity to take those ideas further, presenting and defending their proposals to external experts and demonstrating that young people can be active participants in creating a more sustainable future.
We are immensely proud of Dr Nasser, our students and everyone across the SWPS community who has contributed to this work, and delighted to see that commitment recognised by Talk Education.
