Embley U15s rugby team make history with National Bowl Quarter-Final Place

Yesterday, Embley School’s U15s rugby team made school history after defeating Mount Kelly School (Tavistock, Devon) in the South West regional final of the RFU Continental Tyres Schools U15s National Bowl.

The victory secures Embley a place among the final eight schools in the country and progression to the national quarter-finals of the competition. Playing at home, the team delivered an outstanding performance with a score of 35-0, combining skill, resilience and teamwork to overcome strong opposition and earn their place in the final stages of the competition.

Gareth Richards, Director of Sport at Embley, commented: 'In addition to the scoreline, the determination, hard work and togetherness shown by every player was outstanding. We are exceptionally proud not only of how they played, but of the manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the match. The team’s commitment and camaraderie was truly impressive, and the players should be immensely proud of both the result and their performance.'

The RFU Continental Tyres Cup is foundational to age-grade rugby in England, enabling students from across the country to compete against one another and against the best the game has to offer at school-age level. The quarter final match is due to take place in a few weeks time.
