    Bursaries
    A small number of bursaries are available each year for pupils whose parents could not otherwise afford independent school fees, and these are open to applicants joining any year group, not only scholarship candidates. Awards can vary in value, in some cases covering the full fees, although demand is often oversubscribed and entrance assessment performance may be used to help prioritise support. To apply, parents must complete a financial circumstances form in confidence before the entrance examinations, allowing the bursar to make a recommendation to the head. Financial support is based on a full assessment of a family’s circumstances, including assets and investments as well as income and expenditure, and may include a home visit. Any award is reviewed annually and may change according to circumstances, while applications from current families facing a significant and unexpected change in financial position are considered on a case-by-case basis.
